I wish to register my objection to the proposed housing development on the site of the old Wolverhampton Environment Centre in the Smestow Valley Nature Reserve.

Although the site is currently disused, the area forms an integral part of the contiguous land that runs between the canal and the old railway line. Any housing development on the site would seriously damage the nature reserve both in terms of human enjoyment and the wildlife that lives there.

My family and I often enjoy walking in this area and would be dismayed if this valuable piece of natural beauty close to the city were compromised by such a project.

It would be much better to transform this area into a full part of the reserve, as nature is already doing.

Please keep the area between the canal and the railway walk free of development.
