Representation Summary:

We are writing to you regarding the potential building of houses on the Corbett Meadow in Amblecote and, as residents of this area, we object to this development for following reasons.

This site is one of the few green spaces in the Dudley County Borough and has been declared as a Local Green Space (LGS) in the Black Country Plan ref DS4. This is a beautiful meadow and is home to a wide variety of birds and other animals as well as having numerous trees and plants which only enhances the benefit to the environment in general.

As this land was donated to the people of Amblecote by John Corbett in 1892 we feel it should be retained as a thing of beauty and please for us and for the future generations.

Any housing development would merely increase traffic and fumes onto an already congested area thus having a detrimental effect on climate change.

We feel the Meadow itself could be projected as a site to improve the understanding and health that such green spaces provide. As there are primary schools close by this could be part of the curriculum for the pupils
