Draft Black Country Plan

Representation ID: 15022

Respondent: Mr Sam Ludlow

Representation Summary:

Specifically regarding proposal for Coronation Rd/Mob Ln.

1. Transport Links/Infrastructure
- Proposal appears to show road connections via Green Lane, Mob Lane, Coronation Rd.
- For 763 houses and the additional traffic this would bring, the surrounding roads are not suited. Coronation Rd is reduced to one lane along much of the length from Mob Ln to field Ln. Spring Ln & Broad Ln are usually down to one lane or double parked, as is Green Ln from Fairway to Mill Rd. Green Ln by the Black Cat pub would also not cope with a large amount of increased traffic.
- The traffic on Mill Rd from the traffic lights at the A461 often stretches back between Broad Ln and Leighs Rd. Additional housing would make this worse. The junction with Coronation Rd to Fordbrook Ln is known to be difficult to exit due to speeding cars at the blind bend, additional cars from763 houses would make this worse.
2. Green Land/Natural Area
- Many people, including ourselves often walk dogs over the fields, the proposed area would completely remove the green walking areas we walk our small dogs.
- The view from our home over the fields would be erased.
3. Property value
- The value of our property would be decreased because of the loss of views & additional housing and congestion.
4. (Transport) additional buses would be needing on an area where roads are realistically too tight for buses.
