Draft Black Country Plan

Respondent: Ms Lorna Edwards

Representation Summary:

My objection is regarding the Housing development on greenbelt land to the rear of Coronation Road ,Ashton Drive and Mob Lane.

Irreplaceable Greenbelt land, which supports a wide bio-diversity of wildlife and wild plant species, which currently is productive arable land.

Flood risk:- To Mob Lane, Ashton Drive and Coronation Road. Some of the properties have already come close to flooding due to storm water runoff from the fields at the rear of Mob Lane, my patio has flooded recently photo's of which can be provided. Can the council / local authorities guarantee that this will not happen should any development take place.

Infrastructure:-The roads and lanes were never built to take the current level of traffic we have now, let alone the huge increase a new development would bring. This increase in traffic will add to the air pollution which the lack of green belt would fail to neutralise. Many of the local junctions already suffer congestion at various times of the day causing delays and frustration, mainly due to the narrowness of the Roads and Lanes and parked vehicles. How can this possibly be resolved.

Please protect our greenbelt, build on more brown field sites, and areas of better accessibility and use up the empty properties around the town. If we keep chipping away our greenbelt we will have nothing left for our future generations. At what point do we consider a town to be full to capacity and development needs to take place in another borough.
