[Flint Field - LGS]

I support the application by Friends of Homer Hill Park and Gradley Then & Now for designation of Local Green Space for Site ID 10522 The Flint Field, Land North of Oldnall Road, Gradley & Wollescote. The area is a special place for the community and holds particular local significance because of its natural beauty, tranquillity, wild life, archaeology, history and recreational value. Its size and character is different to neighbouring or other greenbelt land in Gradley or Wollescote. A visit there for recreation is a different experience to visiting anywhere else in the locality, which is
demonstrated by organised walks, and the support of the Black Country Society. It's appreciated for its breathtaking views over the Black Country, and its secluded, private areas, quite different to the much larger fields overlooked by the farm and farm buildings to the south of Oldnall Road or the enclosing, towering treescape of Caslon Wood.

BJECT TO SA-0199-DUD/ DUH222 - Severn Drive (Green Space)
This Green Space here on Severn Drive has been here for years. This is where our newborn son will go to play when he is a bit older. This is where he will learn to ride a bike, kick a football, interact and play with other children his age. This is where we walk our dog. This was also a factor of us buying our property [REDACTED] as our child would be able to do these activities as we all did when we grew up. This green has always been a safe space.

There is plenty of derelict buildings and factories land all in the black country on which new homes could be built. Not on green spaces that we have very little of. Let's leave these green spaces untouched. Thank you.

I have 2 children who regularly use several of these sites to play football on because our back garden is not big enough. If you remove these then where would our children play? We encourage children to be more active but the council makes it as difficult as possible. For this reason I am appalled.
Also for Severn Drive it is a very nasty corner to drive past and I am concerned about more parked cars which would cause an accident

DUH210 Viewfield Crescent
Please leave our greenbelt untouched - use brownfield sites!!! Viewfield Crescent - designated Green belt areas and site of local importance for nature conservation.
It's a beautiful area - filled with wildlife, flowers, hedgerows - we need to keep these areas in place for future generations - to witness the beauty of England's green and pleasant land.
Andy Street has been given enough money by our government to use brownfield sites - to leave the Green belt untouched! Use his money as was intended.
24 executive houses - is not affordable housing as suggested by Mr Johnson... That could potentially lead to another 90+ cars - in the area of Viewfield Crescent, who's road system is in dire need of overhauling - Also increased traffic on roads, etc.... The infrastructure cannot cope!!!

I object to all of the above sites selected to be used for the Black Country Plan. I am very concerned about the amount of new houses being built in the area. I feel that the area already struggles with huge amounts of traffic. With the addition of new housing this will only get a lot worse including the increase of air pollution. I am also concerned about the local wildlife. If houses are to be built on the greenspaces where will the wildlife live? I have noticed that their is a number of derelict houses which the council should have the right to buy/ obtain due to the owners lack of interest or care. These derelict houses should be redeveloped then sold on or used as council houses rather than building on our green spaces. If our green spaces are built on this will have disastrous affect on everyones well being, mental health and wildlife.

I would like to express that I fully support the councils decision to fully protect as much greenbelt within the black country as possible. Also below I have just added on a personal note how & why greenbelt areas are so important to me and my mental & physical wellbeing.... >
I have been following and supporting 'Save Halesowen Countryside' over the past few years and I am aware of certain sites that potential property developers 'seem to have their eyes on'. Namely Tack Farm and Foxcote Farm both that have had a personal impact on my life and still very much do.

I was raised in Halesowen and growing up as a child [REDACTED], I have embraced the country side and nature around the Tack Farm area either through running or walking. The Uffmoor Woods is a very important area as far as wildlife is concerned and any building around such areas would not only have a negative impact to humans but more importantly to so much wild life and nature in that area.

I have lived on the Pedmore Hill Estate for over [REDACTED] years now which lies opposite where Foxcote Farm is. I bought my property initially based on the green belt area surrounding Foxcote Farm, as I was a keen runner and just love being around the country side and nature.

However over the past [REDACTED] years that stunning view from Oldnall Road overlooking Foxcote Farm and beyond to Wychbury Hill and Clent additionally has had such an immense impact on my mental well being to. A view even now, I never take for granted.
Just driving past each day looking over to that country side on my way to work (& coming back home) has always and quite simply given me such a positive uplifting feeling, even on days of very low mood.
I cannot be the only one that feels that!.
Since working from home the past two / three years that countryside and the abundance of nature that lies within it has been even a greater importance to both mine & my partners physical & mental well being.

We all need greenbelt to have down me to relax, excercise, observe and respect all nature around us. It plays a vital role in all peoples mental and physical wellbeing.

I would be very grateful if you could you please acknowledge receipt of this email and see that my opinions go towards support for protecting the greenbelt areas within the Black Country.

I will also be a ending the meeting at Dudleys Town Hall tomorrow evening in support of 'Saving our Greenbelt within the Dudley area.

Site: DUH217, Grazing Land Wollaston Farm, Stourbridge.
I object to the allocation of the above site for development on the following bases:
Public open space: The site is located within Community Forum 7, where there is a belowaverage quantity of open space. It was well-used by local residents in the past for informal recreation and has a high value to the local community. I believe the site should be re-opened to the public to provide a much-needed green space in this area. The site could additionally be enhanced for nature, for example by developing it as a wildflower meadow.
Landscape sensitivity: This is a green belt, green field site which, although having no agricultural rating and defined as ‘urban’, falls within area S17 having high landscape sensitivity and a “sense of scenic rural character” (Dudley Landscape Sensitivity Assessment). It is my/our opinion that Red ratings for landscape sensitivity should be considered to constitute “significant planning constraints which cannot be mitigated”, despite the high levels of housing land which the BCP is seeking to meet (Site Assessment Report).
Tranquillity: The NPPF states that planning policies should “identify and protect tranquil areas which have remained relatively undisturbed by noise and are prized for their recreational and amenity value for this reason” (NPPF 2019, para 180(b)). The government guidelines on what constitutes a tranquil place are that it is “relatively undisturbed by noise from human sources that undermine the intrinsic character of the area” with a positive soundscape for e.g. of birdsong. (“Guidance: Noise”, HMG 2019, para. 8). This site should be assessed for tranquillity and protected under Policy GB1 (4) on protecting tranquil areas.
The proposed development would ultimately lead to a further increase in county line crime. Over recent months this has already seen a huge increase, with authorities already struggling to keep it under control.

The increase in further housing would ultimately add pressure to an already over burdened Doctors Surgery being the Lion Health Centre

I hope that the above points are considered before ultimately making a decision that cannot be reversed. Our green areas are more important than ever, especially when we have been through some of the most difficult times for all of our mental well-being

DUH217 grazing land woolaston farm Wollaston Stourbridge WTBBC have concluded that the site assessment process should not have selected site
- site has been identified as potential site of importance for nature conservation
- a local wildlife site assessment is required to provide evidence to inform the bcp site assessment
- WTBBC strongly recommend that alternative development sites are sought in order to prevent loss of green belt
- environment bill clause 95 general duty to conserve and enhance biodiversity
- there's already a proposed development of the triangle on the corner of Bridgnorth and Vicarage Rd on private land which falls under South Staffordshire and the plans are clearly state that the schools and doctors in Wollaston Dudley should be used putting pressure on already stretched local services
- tranquilly the NPPF states that planning policies should identify unprotected tranquil areas which have remained relatively undisturbed by noise and are prized for their recreational and amenity value for this reason NPPF 2019 para 180 (b)
- the plans will have a negative impact on traffic and road infrastructure on the Kingsway which is already busy and dangerous for St. James primary school children there is already a bus route along the busy road and it is extremely busy with school traffic the hill before the school is often filled with parked cars obscuring the view of the road and creating only single car access
- public open space the site is located within community forum 7 where there is below average quantity of open space it was well used in the past before the public were excluded from the site I believe the site should be reopened to provide a much needed green space in this area which could additionally be developed as a wildflower Meadow
- landscape sensitivity this is a green belt Greenfield site which although having no agricultural rating and defined as urban falls within area 517 having high landscape sensitivity and a sense of scenic rural character (Dudley landscape sensitivity assessment) It is my opinion that red ratings for landscape sensitivity should be considered to constitute significant planning constraints which cannot be mitigated
- the site is essential for the general mental and physical well being and local residents truly value the recreational space the path through the grazing land is constantly used by walkers runners and cyclists who use it as a shortcut from kinver and wordsley to Wollaston also horse riders use this footpath to gain access to the fields beyond the boundary into South Staffordshire it is overgrown and in places there is only single file access but it is well used and it would be great to see the whole area reopened for public green space and Wildlife Conservation especially as I am aware that there is a …which should be preserved
- Mental health guide thriving with nature http://www.mentalhealth.org.uk/campaigns/thriving-with-nature/guide This site is used by people locally and by people in a wider geographical area than those living immediately in the vicinity it has been a lifeline during COVID lockdown restrictions as I absolutely loved the great outdoors for my mental and physical well being and to enjoy the nature and wildlife locally on our green belt land within the Dudley borough
- Sir James Bevan at UCL supports the link between access to a natural environment and NH S potential savings https://www.ucl.ac.uk/barlett/sustainable/news/2020/sep/investing-nature-investment-nhs-says-environment-agency-chief-executive-ucl-event
- Dog walkers use EEG rating failed to access the canal and fields over the river Stour as evidenced by the overflowing dog poo bins in the field
- the local school St James is struggling to cope with capacity as is the local surgery lion heath
- I sincerely hope we can protect grazing land in Wollaston and that generations to come can continue to enjoy this tranquil area to enhance their mental and physical well being I hope that the inadequate road infrastructure is recognised and that local residents can feel safe in their locality and can access the services of the local doctors
- I hope you can support retaining green belt land for the future
