Received: 17/08/2021

Respondent: mr mike payne

Representation Summary:

I live in Streetly, which I believe now has a population of 16 thousand. If we are to have more housing on the Aldridge Road and other sites we will need an expanded schools and health facility. Also can we have more effort given to non-car transport. No Streetly rail station when in the past with less population there was one. The light railway expanded to Walsall would help.

There will be an increase in traffic ( that is already a growing nightmare !!) , pollution, noise, plus the
extra demand on the NHS Services, Schools (that are already over subscribed) etc.. There have been
hundreds of houses built in and around Pensnett in the last few years but no other facilities have
been built to accommodate all these extra houses – We have even lost our Doctor’s Surgery.

Received: 13/09/2021

Respondent: Mr Bruno Vinel

Representation Summary:

The plan should not be approved for Stourbridge unless a proper funding is committed to improve the public services at the same time. The plan is absolutely not sustainable and will lead to more traffic jams at pick hours, longer waiting time to see GPs and school classes with too many children. Public services are already under a significant pressure. The BCP doesn't guarantee any extra funding for schools and GP surgeries are already saturated. Roads cannot be enlarged. There is no additional investment committed to improve the bus service within Stourbridge.

Representation Summary:

Use brown field sites for such sites as there is already water, electricity etc connected to the area. Need to consider additional school places and GP places as changing numbers arriving will impact on said services. Those that need storage space for large vehicles and equipment should be charged additional rent accordingly as other businesses would be expected too. Need to take into account rubbish removal from the sites and fluctuations in crime rates and anti social behavior- concierge /security in the area to be set up so police know who is moving in and out of the sites

Also other than the planned primary school on the northycote land (which floods most years!) what about the additional infrastructure such as GP practices and beds and services at the local hospital? How will the LA ensure sufficient infrastructure? There are plenty of deralict buildings that can be brought into use. Also council needs to manage its existing stock better!

Full text: I am commenting about the Worcester Lane sites DUH206, DUH207 and DUH209.

The plan is to build 155 new houses, which will involve about 150 new cars. As petrol and diesel cars will be phased out soon after the houses are completed, the houses will need electric charging points.

This would provide housing for I assume around 350-400 people, including children. The nearest school is Pedmore Primary School. Does the school have the extra capacity? It's quite small.

The plan covers two public footpaths. Will these remain open as rights of way?

Both the Stourbridge GP practices, Lion Health and Wychbury Medical Practice, have too many patients on their roll already; for years local people have complained about the lack of availability of appointments. What will be done to increase GP capacity for 350-400 new residents? Similarly for other medical services such as hospitals, mental health - they are all already overloaded.

Representation Summary:

Passing legislation that requires summer tyres to be replaced with all season/all year or stud-less winter tyres during the winter months would:
Improve road safety, reduce the number of accidents and save lives;
Lower insurance premiums;
Reduce the burden on the police, fire and ambulance / healthcare services and motoring organisations;
Dramatically decrease the amount of gritting required, its urgency and gritting related local authority costs,
Increase seasonal employment (more tyre fitters will be required);
Improve tyre industry, wholesaler and retailer productivity and turnover with a possible resultant increase in employment;
Allow more tyre retailers to introduce “Tyre Hotel & Swap” services;
Prevent the road infrastructure from closing down;
Allow life to continue as normal.

The picture above right was taken in a snow storm in Finland when the temperature was below freezing. When examining this picture, two questions need to be asked. Would traffic, and the transport system in particular, still be moving if the same situation arose in the UK and, would children still be walking home at the end of a perfectly normal school day?

Representation Summary:

We have many excellent schools within Kingswinford and the close surrounding areas. Many families already relocate to the area to take advantage of these establishments. Should further properties be built, surely this will only increase the requirement for school places. Even if schools can accommodate more pupils, this is only going to be to the detriment of the pupils who may no longer be able to gain access to their first-choice school, thus having to travel further and again adding the pressure on the road network.

Representation Summary:

For North Dudley including Woodsetton and Sedgley a key issue is and will continue to be the dependence of the growing population of Wombourne in South Staffs on employment ,further and higher education,health and other services in Dudley,other parts of the Black Country and Birmingham.
This dependence means increasing traffic entering and exiting the Black Country from the west via the A463 through Sedgley.There is no public transport linking Wombourne to the Black Country and Birmingham through Sedgley.
There does not appear any recognition of this issue in the draft Plan.

Have a heart to how these proposed builds will have a dramatic impact on already stretched and overburdened services. Difficult to get a Drs appointment now? The schools are oversubscribed and pheasey jmi is already one of the largest primary schools in Walsall. The increase in traffic would be immense on an estate which is already busy as it's a central crossover point for the different boroughs.

Representation Summary:

Regarding your recent letter re Great Barr Conservation Area building plans and also for the Sutton Road and Calderfields areas. I strongly object to such a massive building plan being put forward. The following points are the reasons why;

2. Lack of schools, surgeries in the area- more houses would be ridiculous as our schools are all over subscribed now.

I feel very strongly that green belt & conservation land should be disregarded so easily. I feel that more could be done to make Walsall town centre more appealing before all the green that surrounds us is taken for developments which can not be supported by the local infrastructure.
I would urge the council to reconsider these proposals & to look at brown sites as the way forward to provide new homes.

Received: 13/10/2021

Respondent: Mr Anthony Hadlington

Representation Summary:

There are many brown sites available that could be used that won't impact our children's well being, that said our schools locally are oversubscribed. It is a battle to get a place at local schools. We need to get traffic off the roads, not increase it. Our grandson as an example he did not get his first choice of primary school He will Never be able to walk to school because of the distance. This no doubt is the case tor many local residents and will only become more and more difficult as new developments spring up.
Schools are already oversubscribed. More houses create more traffic. All the children in these houses will be driven to school because the distance is too far to walk because there is no availability at local schools. We are supposed to be reducing traffic, due to pollution etc destroying our planet. Nothing in the proposals is helping our environment. The government has
targets for new homes but also has targets to reduce pollution. The 2 contradict each other. I have no idea which is their priority.

Document Ref. Strategic Allocation WSA3, Site WAH237/ WAH235

Your policy document states that one of the design principles is "improvements to local facilities to support residents & to enhance the sustainability of the existing area, in particular improved capacity at the primary schools and local health centre". The existing area will not be enhanced as there is no infrastructure for transport and schools are oversubscribed as well as the local health centre. Widening the local roads will have a significant negative impact to the local residents, increased traffic, air pollution, noise all of which are identified as factors that would not have an adverse affect on the local area.
There are no existing drainage amenities suitable for such an extensive development and any development will directly contradict your principles of delivering landscape, biodiversity and amenity benefits.

The land is used for agriculture Grade 3a and is consistently producing crops each year. Any change will significantly affect the livlihood and economical well being of the people involved in this valuable food production system.

I am emailing in regards to the proposed building of houses on an area near to my home. I have been a resident for all of my life.

Pheasey has changed over the years and has expanded with places like Asda been built etc but no other real facilities other than that to cope with the growing population to the area since Netherhall was built.

The schools are full to capacity and you cannot get a doctors appointment easily.

The roads are busier where once they were quiet.

How are you going to manage these extra people who need schools doctors dentists and shops. Sometimes Asda is full on the car park as it is and bedlam inside. We cannot take on any more residents to this area.

• Are these developments planned as many are to just be a bolt on to existing communities and therefore overwhelming infrastructure and amenities. What quality of life does this then offer people when you are constantly battling to get your children into schools, doctors, dentists, who are overwhelmed with applications and appointments. Fighting your way through traffic jams to get to work or a local shop. This raises stress levels, in turn raises mental health issues and in turn incurs huge costs to a health system which is already suffering under strain

Representation Summary:

School won’t cope. All schools are oversubscribed. The roads around the schools are cluttered with cars picking up and depositing children. Another accident waiting to happen. Extra people mean extra litter, more drug taking, fly tipping, dumping of garden refuse (from B’ham). Will there be more policing with the change: No! We don’t get policing now. Leave the countryside as it is. Once it’s gone it’s gone forever.
