Draft Black Country Plan

Respondent: Mr Wilson Prudhoe

Representation Summary:

I object 100% against the development of the green belt triangle BCP site ref DUH211:
1. 533 houses as proposed = over 1,000 residents which = over 500 children. Existing schools in the area are all full together with a shortage of teachers. No new schools or additions are proposed.
2. 1,000 residents = approx 2,000 cars. Traffic on local roads is already heavy with many delays. Travel from Russell Hall can take 30 minutes plus.
3. Traffic on the A449 can exceed 1,000 cars per hour at certain times.
4. Local car parks cannot accommodate extra cars. No additional car parking in the local area.
5. No doctors, dentists, opticians proposed. Existing = full.
6. Loss of nature - birds, field mouse, fox, squirrel + rabbit + more.
7. Winds usually from W + SW. So CO2 and other gases blown towards Summerhill and Kingswinford - much of this is absorbed by the vegetation on the triangle and by the ground where fallow. At least 70% of this absorbtion would be lost.
8. The total area of hard surfacing will exceed 70% of site. Roof area of houses, drives, patios, garden paths, road and pavement will be non-absorbant - resulting in ill-health.
