SITE REFERENCE WAH 234 (COLUMBA PARK - ALDRIDGE ROAD) WAH 246 (CHESTER ROAD)
Current infrastructure will not cope with 960 houses at this location. I estimate there would be at least 1500 more vehicles added to already congested roads ie pinch points at Beacon Hill/ Foley Road West Junction, Queslett Road Asda Roundabout, Scott Arms leading to more traffic and pollution.
Schools in the area will not cope either as i believe all Streetly schools to be oversubscribed. Current parents are also dropping children at school in cars causing more traffic in the vicinity of the schools.
It is also currently difficult to register as a new patient with local doctors so where would an additional circa 2000 people get their healthcare? Green Belt land is there for us to enjoy and prevent urban sprawl.
Brownfield sites (of which I believe there are plenty) should be used first, or is it the case that Green Belt is more profitable to the developers and others???
