Policy WSA9 – Land to the east of Chester Road, north of Pacific Nurseries, Hardwick

1. This identification of local land has not been brought to the attention of local residents via posted letters so feels rather underhand. It is only that some residents have found out about it at the eleventh hour that local residents are able to have their say before your deadline of 5pm today. Furthermore, your process to "consult" is obfuscated: I attempted to do this online via your portal and in spite of this message:

2. The Green Belt land looks intact but only because alternative areas (i) with a Group Tree Protection Orders and (ii) which is a Site of Local Importance for Nature Conservation are proposed to be built on instead. This is a shameful disregard for *existing* bio-diversity; there are owls, muntjac deer, foxes and a multitude of birdlife living on the land which you plan to decimate. I am at a loss as to why an existing woodland area needs to be built on, only to then have "habitat creation" performed on it afterwards. Your plan notes that the existing woodland may mean that the scope for housing is less than the initial proposal depending on trees worthy of preserving.

3. In terms of building another local primary school, I would draw your attention to the fact that the local secondary school (Streetly Academy) is already over-subscribed. You are just creating a bottleneck in the education system at 11+ age, so providing a primary school is not a holistic solution for the educational needs of any new residents throughout their school-life.

4. Any increased traffic flow needs to be via Chester Road not via the existing quiet residential loop of Lindrosa/Windermere/Coniston.
