I support the Council's continuing protection of countryside at Lapal, Illey, Coombs Wood, Uffmoor, Hayley Green, Lutley and Foxcote,following a formal review of the Greenbelt.
These areas of green belt are crossed by many public rights of way which are essential for peoples well being and enjoyment which have been a lifeline for many people in these difficult times.
If new houses have to be built, and the number is not known at the present time, these must be built on brown field sites first. It is fundamentally wrong to consider building on the green belt until all other possibilities have been exhausted.
Halessowen does not have many areas of Green Belt and those that it does have, need to be protected at all costs and not sold to the highest bidder.
