Representation Summary:

This objection relates to the proposed site development at OUESLETT ROAD EAST L ALDRIDGE ROAD, STREETLY, (COLUMBIA PARK - ALDRIDGE ROAD) - WAH 246,

I wish to strongly object to this proposed development for the following reasons.

The site is designated green belt land which is currently used for agricultural purposes;

The development of this many houses is likely to add a population of about 4000 people. The additional pressure placed upon existing schools, doctors, nurseries, hospitals and roads will have a very detrimental effect.

Doctors' facilities in the area are already overwhelmed. Adding additional patients to their lists will mean longer wants for all and a poorer quality of service.

960 house is likely to generate somewhere in the region of 1000-2000 additional vehicles from this site. Most households have at least one vehicle many have 2 or more.

The loss of the land and substituting it with houses, people, cars , gas boilers, additional waste, more pressure on water supplies, the need to generate additional electricity and the extra emission of CO2 will all have a deleterious effect upon everyone who lives, works and plays in the area.

By building houses on this land, one objective may be fulfilled, i.e. providing more homes for people, but the adverse consequences far out weighs this.

There are many brown field sites within the Black Country which have been an eyesore for decades. Development of these must be a priority before any green field sites are consider for use for housing development.
