Draft Black Country Plan

Representation ID: 15145

Received: 11/10/2021

Respondent: Mr Maurice Cutter

Representation Summary:

We bought our property in Kingswinford I n1961 on the understanding that, by law, the green belt would never be built on.
Also of late, we have been assured that brownfield sites would be used before that first promise would be broken. (A simple bus and train ride between Kingswinford and Birmingham would indicate that quite a few potential sites could be used).
But, it now appears that large developers have more of a say and influence over our collective councils than the residents.
It also appears that the councils have not considered all of the problems that the extra traffic would create or the effect on the local facilities that provide health care and education.
Common sense would suggest that additional adequate facilities should be put in place before any additional strain was put on present facilities.
If the councils have considered all these things and, in the face of large developers 'influence, decided to ignore all, it would appear that our democracy is being eroded by big business and any promises given can be ignored.
