I am objecting to this plan re
The National Planning Policy Framework
INAPPROPRIATE DEVELOPMENT IS, BY DEFINITION, HARMFUL TO THE GREEN BELT AND SHOULD NOT BE APPROVED EXCEPT IN VERY EXCEPTIONAL CIRCUMSTANCES (para 147)
Infrastructure: The roads around Wallheath/Kingswinford are already congested, particularly at rush hour (A449/A491)
The traffic from A449 island up to Summerhill is also subject to long tail backs from worker commute. Most people who live here commute, either by car or rail, nearest stations Wolverhampton and Stourbridge, so roads will end up gridlocked.
Traffic from Wton through to the Stallings Lane lights is already backed up to Holbeache Island most days. Traffic also backs up from Mile Flat Lights to A449, another route through to Womboune/Wton
This is made worse by the houses already built and Stallings Lane/Ketley Quarry. Also the new houses being built in Wombourne on S.Staffs borders
Pollution: The resulting increased pollution of air quality and noise would be further detrimental to residents
Loss of Green belt, the countryside hedgerows and trees, what bout climate control - we need to build on brownfield sites not high value homes on green sites. They of course will be looking out over our countryside.
Wildlife corridors need to be maintained, also well used walking routes that contribute to the health of users.
Flooding. Loss of land to soak away water - the Island by Hickories on A449 already floods in heavy rain. Look at what happened at the Stew Pony - main road gets flooded regularly
Infrastructure: Schools, doctors, hospitals already struggling and parking difficult
If we lose this green belt, on our side of A449, who knows where it will end - climate control needs to be a priority, not ripping up the landscape.
