Draft Black Country Plan

Representation ID: 14884

Received: 11/10/2021

Respondent: Miss Anne Cole

Representation Summary:

Queslett Road East / Aldridge Road
Where do I start? This is wrong for a number of reasons.
The sheer volume of extra traffic that would be created by 960 houses being built would have the effect of causing chaos at already busy junctions such as the Scott Arms and Asda island. This would have a knock on affect on surrounding roads including the Park Farm estate, making it very difficult to actually exit the estate.
There is a lack of facilities such as doctor surgeries / supermarkets etc to cope with the extra people who would be living in the area.
We have all seen, due to the pandemic, how important it is to maintain greenbelt land for our mental well being to do this now and destroy natural habitat and wildlife is beyond comprehension.
The area will eventually end up being turned into one big conurbation, with it becoming a superb of Birmingham!
