Representation Summary:

I write to object to the development of WEC Smestow Valley.
I visited this delightful GREEN FIELD site for the first time for many years this week whilst visiting a friend. The beautiful area was a regular walking and playing area when I was younger, many of my friends attended Smestow School and my Brother in Law went on to teach there.
I was absolutely appalled when my friend told me of the proposal and I read the notices.
This is absolutely ludicrous. Why has it not been publicly announced. Why is it being classed as a Brownfield site just because it used to have greenhouses on it. This is nothing more than a money making scheme.
[Redacted] the oxygen people get from walking in such a beautiful woodlands is a major health benefit.
The WEC is part of the only remaining natural places in the area available for the public to roam.
A Biodiversity wetland Allowing nature to thrive with [redacted] and hundreds of other wild species of plants.
It provides a corridor into the city for people to visit and take their children and grandparents to learn and see wild plants and animals
Surely this should be seen as an opportunity to use as a foundation for further work within Wolverhampton to ensure cleaner air, open spaces, tree planting, rewilding definitely not to be classed as a Brownfield Site which it certainly is not.
Come on Dudley and Wolverhampton Council, give your community this beautiful area by not building on one of the few Green Sites we still have access to.
