Draft Black Country Plan

Representation Summary:

I am writing to object to the proposal to build houses on the site of the old Wolverhampton Environment Centre.
Any building on this land that is surrounded by the Smestow Valley nature reserve would seriously damage the ecosystem, which is currently home to many wild animals, [redacted].
This area currently provides a wonderful continuous green space from the canal to the old railway walk, which benefits all local residents recreationally, with minimal
impact on the environment. The proposal for luxury homes will be damaging to both.
As there are already plans for additional housing on Paget Road, once the college relocates to Wolverhampton City Centre, this proposal to build on green space also seems totally unnecessary. It will benefit the few who can afford this type of luxury home, without having any impact on homes needed for people in Wolverhampton, whilst to the detriment of the local community and wildlife.
