Draft Black Country Plan

Representation ID: 14192

Received: 09/10/2021

Respondent: Barry Cooper

Representation Summary:

As a resident of [text redacted] the Bushbury Strategic Allocation is of great concern, as the development of houses in Northycote Lane will have an impact on Moseley Road which abuts Northycote Lane and Cat and Kittens Lane. This area is steeped in history and should remain as a rural area rather than merged into the conurbation. It will also effect the approach and environs of Moseley Old Hall, one of the oldest properties of interest in and around Wolverhampton. Not to mention The Monarch’s Way, which is adjacent to the development.
This may be regarded as NIMBYism, but we residents in this area, living on the boundaries of the Wolverhampton and South Staffs, have had more than our fair share of developments and threatened developments within a couple of miles. Examples of which:-
I 54.
Oakwood Prison
Proposed development of rail terminal Calf Heath.
Extension of industrial estate junction of Cannock Road A460 and Moseley Road.
Proposed redevelopment of old munitions factory Cat and Kittens Lane .
Proposed new motorway junction between Featherstone and Cannock.
To name, but a few.
