[Holbeache Greenbelt BCP Site Ref DUH 208 pages 371. DSA 1 Pages 419-423]
1) The effect on local services – immense. a lot more people in the area will mean longer NHS/ hospital waiting times, delays in local health services. more strain on doctors and dentists. Mossgrove is already oversubscribed. schools - oversubscribed with more children in the area therefore children would have to go further to go to school so couldn't walk there so more car/ bus journeys more pollution and accidents.
2) more traffic and disruption on local roads more air and water pollution as more people equals more journeys all this is not good for our health
3) the impact on local environment - killing wildlife and nature, loss of green belt which needs to be kept for our mental health. Lot of hedgerows all around holbeach plus small part to the left form a SLINC – owls, buzzards, redkites, bats, daffodils would all be lost. The government committed to a 25 year plan to protect land of this good quality and use the soil in a sustainable way updated February 21 - going back on this we need to use all brownfield sites first before green belt. Holbeach in a very good agricultural land(crops).
4) We regularly enjoy the walks in the local area these sites are so important – to our mental health especially during the last couple of year; Covid 19. The walks have helped get my family through this difficult time please don’t take this away from us as well. Loss is very difficult nature, wildlife have really helped us through.
5) Houses would also be to expensive for local young people to afford.
