I am now [age] years old and you might think that what happens, should matter too much to me!. But it does, folk of me age have a lot of experience seeing our town over develop and so encouraging folk to move here. At the moment the World is burning up as man expands and destroys. We keep being warned of Global Warming which if we are not stupid, realise that it is happening, and on a large scale. And yet Planners across the country are attempting to gobble up as much "GREEN" land as possible. Which as we all know is increasing the likelihood of eventual Armageddon. "What are we leaving for our children and their childrens children?"
My immediate concern is for "Smestow Valley Nature Reserve" as you know or may not know, our council wants to build 14 Middle Class houses in the centre of this most beautiful and Scientifically important sight, on the land they call, "The Nursery. This reserve is so important to the folk that use if daily for recreation, and for the Wild Flowers!, (Some of which are rare or semi rare). For the amphibians of which we have Toads, Frogs and Great Crested Newts, (We keep being told that they can't build where there are Great Crested) I would include in that reule, Toads who are also endangered. We have 9 species of Bat, 3 of them rare, Roe Deer and Munjaks. Lots of children enjoy Smestow and many time I have asked them if they would prefer to go to Alton Towers!, they always say NO!, we like it much better here.
I could go on about Brown Fields sites, of which there are many, Also I think its time that House Building "TARGETS" were scrapped. Please stop our Planners from building in the only Green Space/ Nature Reserve in Wolverhampton, it is the Diamond in Wolverhamptons Crown. Please don't send out precious Smestow Valley Reserve to the Gallows!, it cant be replaced, and the children of today and of the future, won't be forgivable toward the Vandalistic Planners that are about to perpetrate this act of "Lifetime Vandalism"
