[Moseley Road Open Space Bilston]

I live opposite the field where the building development is proposed on the Stowlawn Estate which I believe is still regarded as a deprived area. My Husband has lived here since the estate was built and I have lived here over 50 years. When the estate was first built it was designed with houses around green spaces. These were used for childrens' play areas and community gatherings. In the 70's the council built houses on the majority of these greens so depriving us of community areas. Middleway Green has a childrens park on it. Then the council built a rent office on the Green so depriving us of more greenery. It is no longer a rent office but is used by the council for unknown reasons. The Grapes Field has long been used by people from this estate. My husband learned to fish on the pool and he taught his son who in turn taught his sons. My son and grandsons have ridden their bikes - learned to fly kites - played endless games with family and friends. In the winter time it is a pleasure to watch the children sledging and snowball fighting. During lockdown it was invaluable for peoples welfare - walking - exercising - walking family pets. Not only do the planners want to build on this "surplus field" it is also having a "little forest" but over there! So it appears that there will be non of this field left at all. Once again we are being deprived of something that is far from surplus! in my lifetime we have been blessed with this little oasis and my family have made great use of it. Please don't deprive future generations of having the same pleasure!
