We would like to see this policy amended to include the role of trees planted in the right location in absorbing air pollution and hence improving air quality. Trees have been shown to be effective in absorbing a number pollutants produced by traffic, including particulates. It is important to choose the right species of tree and to plan planting locations carefully.
