Black Country Core Strategy Issue and Option Report

Representation ID: 38

Received: 29/07/2017

Respondent: Colin Knipe

Representation Summary:

The targets for cycle use are wildly unrealistic. The hilly topography of the western half of the Black Country and the narrow congested roads across the whole of the area are not amenable to safe bike use. Traffic impact statements for large new developments such as Dudley College buildings invariably grossly overestimate predicted cycle use compared with actual. Off road cycle and walking tracks are to be encouraged but the opportunities are limited.
