I would like to express my total and utter opposition to any plans to develop the Greenbelt surrounding Halesowen. This area is Halesowen's crowning glory and to give any development the go ahead would be extremely detrimental to the town, it's inhabitants and the reputation of Dudley. The Black Country has suffered from industrial decline in past decades. Attempts to reverse this could be achieved by redeveloping vast swathes of blighted brownfield sites which would be far more logical and commendable. It would be foolhardy and shortsighted to ruin the beautiful and historically important land on Halesowen's doorstep for future generations. Instead concentrate on the redevelopment of the vast amount of brownfield sites available in the Black Country. This would improve the lives of the existing communities living nearby and help make them proud of their areas again, and help reverse the negative press that the Black Country has had over the years by making it a more pleasant place to live and work.
Dear Sir/Madam,
I would like to express my total and utter opposition to any plans by Dudley Council to develop the Greenbelt surrounding Halesowen in any way. The Greenbelt surrounding Halesowen is Halesowen's crowning glory and to give any development the go ahead would be extremely detrimental to the town, it's inhabitants and the reputation of Dudley Council. The Black Country has suffered from industrial decline in past decades and as a result negative press.Attempts to reverse this could be achieved by redeveloping vast swathes of blighted brownfield sites -which would be a far more logical and commendable policy. I implore you-please don't take the foolhardy and shortsighted step of ruining the beautiful and historically important land on Halesowen's doorstep for future generations and instead concentrate on the logical redevelopment of the vast amount of brownfield sites available in the Black Country. This would improve the lives of the existing communities living near to the brownfield sites and help make them proud of their areas again. This would also go a long way in reversing the negative press that the Black Country has had over the years by making it a more pleasant place to live and work.Once again please don't develop Halesowen's Greenbelt.
