I wish to register my serious concerns at the madness of the proposed development of the beautiful surroundings of Halesowen between M5 J3 and Clent, which are allegedly needed for new housing and industry. At places like Lye High Street there are disused/derelict brownfield sites where houses or industry could go, so virgin land does not have to be used which would involve building on a site of natural beauty and rich history dating back hundreds of years.
Air quality would be affected, which is bad enough now with the M5 and Halesowen bypass, sound and light pollution added, wildlife, flora and fauna desecrated, and the right to walk and roam in wonderful countryside be lost to generations to come. Congested traffic e.g. on the Halesowen bypass after 3.00pm, would be made even worse.
I wish to register my serious concerns at the madness of the proposed "development" (haha) of the beautiful surroundings of Halesowen between M5 J3 and Clent.
Allegedly "needed" for new housing and indusry. (haha, again).
If the "planners" could be bothered to get on the No.9 bus at Manor Way and alight at (say) Lye High Street, then assuming they haven't got a blindfold on they will see acres of disused/derelict brownfield sites upon which houses or industry could go. The notion that virgin land has to be used is a complete and utter nonsense.
The very idea of building on a site of natural beauty along with its rich history dating back hundreds of years exemplifies the lack of brains and foresight of these "planners".
Will they not be happy until every square inch of this once green and pleasant land is concreted over?
Air quality would be affected - it's bad enough now with the M5 and Halesowen bypass - , sound and light pollution added, wildlife, flora and fauna desecrated, and the right to walk and roam in wonderful countryside be lost to generations to come. Congested traffic - ever tried to get down the Halesowen bypass after 3.00pm? - would be made even worse.
It beggars belief this idea is even being considered (again).
DITCH THE PLANS ONCE AND FOR ALL - NOW !!!!!!!
