Question 102b - Do you think that Policy ENV6, taken together with national and local policies, provides sufficient protection from development for open space? Yes/No; If no, please explain.

Representation ID: 123

Respondent: Friends of Marsh Park and Lawyers Field

Representation Summary:

1. See reply to 102a.
2. We are concerned about the management of parks and open spaces being outsourced (which is currently happening in Newcastle). In the event of this being considered locally, ENV6 needs to require (1) no outsourcing of parks/opens spaces/management for commercial purposes/profit (2) full existing protection of the rights of the public to enjoy parks/open spaces(including the right not to be charged) to extend in the event of outsourcing to charitable body. (3) default "safety" provisions in the event of outsourcing failure.
