To revise the coverage of cultural and visitor economy facilities to reflect current priorities implies some existing facilities and opportunities may be omitted. The update should be aimed to add in any projected or emerging schemes - increasing the total provision.

I find it incomprehensible to remove the specific reference to the Hatherton Canal. The stated justification for doing this is not sound. I feel the Bradley Canal project should also be mentioned in the Core Strategy. Please refer to my attachment.

The wording of the change to paragraph d) should refer to surface water flows being limited to less than or equal to greenfield rates - thus encouraging measures to attenuate storm water flows.

Policy ENV5 should encourage consideration of the use of canals and restored sections of canal for the purposes of storm water flow attenuation. At present paragraph 6.21 of the justification specifies various types of water feature but neglects the potential of waterways in this regard.

As set out in my response against question 102a - other relevant organisations, alongside Canal & River Trust, Sustrans, etc, should be specifically mentioned for their role in enhancing the Greenway network. The Lichfield & Hatherton Canals Restoration Trust - with its Heritage Towpath Trail initiative - should be specifically identified.
