Draft Black Country Plan

Representation ID: 10860

Received: 16/09/2021

Respondent: Ms Leanne Bood

Representation Summary:

We do not need to build on green belt sites when we have sufficient brownfield sites and buildings within our city centers that could be used for suitable housing.
The planned build on the Greenland off Westacre crescent in Finchfield and the green belt land off Nothycote lane in bushbury should not go ahead.
These areas of natural beauty give the community safe, outdoor space for people to enjoy.

Respondent: Mrs Bernice Bennett

Representation Summary:

Calderfields Aldridge Road.
I am very concerned about the impact on pollution and traffic. There is a potential of 1,000 cars (2 per household) on this small site which would cause a massive disruption to the amount of cars accessing Aldridge road during the rush hours.
If this site does go ahead you should extend the proposed tree planting for the visual amenity and character of the arboretum to all the borders where there are existing housing for their visual amenity as the proposal indicates building up to their housing boundaries.

Respondent: Mr Kris Bolton

Representation Summary:

While the historic under-delivery needs to be addressed, I object to the consideration and use of green belt land when sufficient brown field sites could be made available. The loss of green belt effects the lives of everyone within their radius and over a larger radius in terms of pollution and loss of biodiversity. Further, the use of green belt sites contradicts the Government plans for the protection and increased biodiversity discussed in the 'Integrated Review of Security, Defence, Development and Foreign Policy', in addition to Government climate change pledges.

Draft Black Country Plan

Received: 05/10/2021

Respondent: Alison Clarges

Representation Summary:

There is no justification to building 100’s of houses on Walsall arboretum green belt land. There are numerous brown sites throughout Walsall that are desperate for regeneration whilst not ruining a beautiful park and wildlife habitat at a time when we need to protect green spaces not build on them. Regenerate and create more green spaces don’t take them away from people for a quick profit at the cost to the one and only good thing Walsall has going for it.

Draft Black Country Plan

Representation ID: 11950

Received: 10/10/2021

Respondent: Mr Robert Reynolds

Representation Summary:

The plan includes a proposal, to build housing on a number of green belt sites and to redraw the green belt boundaries to facilitate this. Our contention is that these existing areas of green belt should remain unchanged as they play an essential part in improving the quality of life for the local population.
Any destruction or reduction in size of the green belt would also have a devastating effect on its indigenous wildlife and plantlife - itself another negative impact on human quality of life.

Respondent: Mrs Nicole Alpers

Representation Summary:

Brownfield sites have not been prioritised. Much greenbelt land has been earmarked. This will have a huge impact on natural habitat and landscape.
