Pollution both noise and air will rise exponentially, with grave impact to health.
Traffic congestion is already a major problem and 500+ houses will increase this
The public resources are stretched to the limit already
The local enviroment will be impacted massively at a time when the planet needs such rich resources
Wildlife needs our support and a balance struck in order for us all to benefit

Representation Summary:

The development of this policy into green wedges rather than complete rings still makes that aim achievable but filling in part of a green wedge, as is proposed at Viewfield Crescent, with more housing does not.

The Cotwall End Valley is a jewel in the crown of Dudley's leisure/recreation/tourism offer.

The Local Plan proposes to destroy this route with the land off Viewfield Crescent becoming part of a housing development.

Much of the land is too steep for housing.

From east to west there is a 25% gradient, unacceptable for any new road and any access road on a north to south trajectory, cutting into that slope would produce cliff edge issues.

Groundwater infiltration issues.

Representation Summary:

The plan is nothing short of criminal vandalism. Whilst no one would dispute the need for more homes there are plenty of brownfield sites within the Dudley area without the need to destroy the green spaces which are essential for residents physical and mental wellbeing. New housing developments over the last few years have had a detrimental impact on traffic congestion and therefore pollution. Construction at the locations and on the scale proposed by the plan will create enormous problems for residents and the people of Dudley generally as the infrastructure will not cope.

I wish to comment on Section ENV 8 re the provision of new favcillities.
I strongly feel that provision should be made within the Plan for the construction of a new sports facility in the area which could house local sports teams, in particularly the much missed Cradley Heathens speedway team. The Heathens were undoubtedly the biggest sports team in the Borough and the campaigns to return the Heathens to the area, which are still ongoing, appear to have been largely ignored by successive Councils.
It seems incredible that a town the size of Dudley, for example, now has no major sports facility. With the increase in population proposed under the Plan, more facilities of this type would surely be required, to encourage both support and participation and to promote the night time economy.
Whilst writing, I also strongly oppose the contruction of housing on green belt land whilst there are many sites within the area where houses could be constructed-for example, i am personally aware of a number of sites which were formerly public houses which have been derelict for a number of years.

Any green spaces we have are more than ever valuable and should not be considered for development. We are supposed to be trying to save our planet, not destroying it by yet again putting short term human values above of the very things we depend upon, ie. biodiversity-trees to provide clean air to breath, an ecosystem where all creatures are inclusive and continue to increase the nectar required for our survival. Currently pollinators are dwindling, and the usefulness of aged trees cannot be replaced by new trees planted elsewhere. We all need nature to remain in our immediate vicinity.

Representation Summary:

am writing to object to Dudley Council’s proposed development on green belt land around Pedmore. I wish to lodge my strong opposition to this, as part of the consultation process

I refer to the plots of land on Trehernes Farm shown on the consultation plans as DOH 209 and DOH 207. I am horrified that a Conservative Council would contemplate developing on green belt farmland, when the government and local councilors are supposed to be concerned about preserving our green spaces, especially farmland.

Parts of the proposed sites opposite the small park in Pedmore are currently used for farming and grow wheat and potatoes, they also provide a welcome green space respite from the urban sprawl around us which is threatenings to take away all green spaces and the wellbeing of residents. During the Covid pandemic these green spaces have proved invaluable to many, not to mention the crops that grown in these fields and should end up feeding our population. The proposed developments would add significant extra traffic to what is already a busy road network especially along Worcester Lane and Hagley Road. The congestion during the rush hour at some of the islands and traffic lights going in and out of Stourbridge and Hagley would be made much worse.

There are many opportunities around Stourbridge to redevelop brown field sites into housing, especially within the town centre areas. These must be fully explored properly before taking the easy option and helping greedy developers of ruining our countryside and eating into valuable farmland which should be used for growing crops.

The planning process has not fully and properly considered the impact on the road network the loss of natural habitat, the impact on the local community or the loss of crop growing farmland. Urban sprawl is the easy option please keep our green belt green and re-develop our towns and derelict spaces into high class living accomodation to solve your housing needs.

Have we not got plenty of disused factory lands in the Dudley area that can have residential housing built upon? I belive the answer is yes !Then pray ,why do we need to use precious Green Belt land ? Building 863 houses in Kingswinford would need a big plaster to cover the already stretched local amenities if this is to go ahead.I live in Stallings La where one hell of a lot of houses have been built on the old Ibstock Brick site. Now it has made the area pleasing to the eye and fixed a housing problem short term.It has however had an impact on the services and roads. Traffic has increased , putting my right to CLEAN AIR right out of the window, to get a Drs appointment is nigh on impossible, to add more stress on the Russells Hall Hospital which right at the moment is ready to shut its doors.Dentists in this area are full ,taking NO NHS patients.School classes are filled with 40+ in Primary to be
the norm .I may mention the Police .....is there still a force for this area? I won't mention the noise pollution and also the Bin men are getting later and later to the point some Tuesdays they end ip righting it off and starting on a Wednesday. Having lived here for 42yrs I know the residents feel more than enough has been done to help with the housing situation in.this area.So keep what little green belt we have GREEN and Pleasant areas we can go and enjoy.
I and my husband oppose the Green belt areas, being developed for housing in the Kingswinford areas.
I trust this will be taken on board when the time arises.

[Site Ref:] DUH 218 Guys Lane

1) I am objecting due to the impact of the local schools, hospitals and G.P. surgeries
2) The wildlife in the field e.g. [Redacted-sensitive information] there are also [Redacted-sensitive information] nesting in the stables, also over wintering [Redacted-sensitive information]. Parents bring their small children to feed and stroke the horses, these have been in the field at least 56 years.

3) Guys Lane is a busy short cut road through Hindley Rd to Chester Rd & vice-versa, there is already building taking place Himley View & Caitesby Ests [Estates].

The infrastructure is not suitable for more traffic. Building taking place on and around Sandyfields Rd will also impact on this area.
4) As we are being encouraged to rewild and plant trees etc. building on greenfield sites isn't a very good idea.

Black Country Plan - Support for the Protection of Green Belt Around Halesowen
I support the Council’s continued protection of countryside at Lapal, Illey, Coombeswood, Uffmoor,
Hayley Green, Lutley and Foxcote, following a formal review of the Green Belt.
The whole of this area, including that within Dudley Borough, is of regional importance as an amenity asset for the welfare and enjoyment by a large population. It would be so simple to seriously damage the area with inappropriate developments and associated infrastructure.

With the current climate changes Getting worse and everyone, from environmentalists, gardeners and yes, even central governments throughout the world, why does Dudley council think it’s a good idea to sell of our precious green spaces wherever they are for building, yes I am aware that we need more houses, but again these need to be affordable ones, not luxury ones that 1st time buyers can’t buy.
The developers are thinking about profit, the green spaces are easier and cheaper to develop and luxury homes bring in more money for them, at everyone else’s expense.

Hello can I start by saying building on green belt land should not happen , we are all trying to do our bit for the environment and it’s getting thrown back in our face how can we try to save wildlife when this is happening, the area in Stourbridge in question is a nature habitat for birds animals and wild flowers and walkers and dog walkers ,so let’s try and stay green and not erode the
green belt, plus we would congest the main road and this could result in serious accidents and more traffic pollution, please do t let this happen.

Representation Summary:

I wish to object to loss of 'all greenbelt sites' in Dudley's Black Country Plan.
In particular I wish to object to plans to see off Council owned land at rear of the Kingsway, Wollaston, site no DUH217. This is a delightfull, historic site full of wildlife at the moment. Walkers and path users of all kinds are able to enter the countryside via these paths a vital 'clear you head pathway' particular users on the Kingsway estate escape relitive poverty through this gateway.
The knocking down of two semi-detached houses would be required to enable access - that 2 more houses lost. In particular the access would lead to more land loss of the green belt in the future as the land is landlocked at the moment - providing a vital safeguarding of the green belt. Identical land down to the canal would be at risk!!
I am also concerned about gridlock of cars and danger to pedestrians on the Kingsway, another 150 cars cannot be in anyway suitable for this road. Should be disallowed on this danger too. School at St James is extremely busy - the infrastructure problems are no solvable, due to the narrow roads.

Please record my unwavering and full commitment to the protection of Halesowen's Green Belt in response to The Black Country Plan.

In relation to the current public consultation of the Black Country Plan I would like to make it clear that I support the proposed protection of Green Belt in Halesowen (Illey, Lapal, Uffmoor, Hayley Green, Coombeswood), Lutley and Foxcote.

I am local and have lived in Halesowen all my life, the local countryside is historic, scenic and good for walking amongst nature. The pandemic highlighted our open spaces, green belt and countryside as being essential for our mental health and general well being, although we recognised the benefits of our treasured green belt long before 2020.

It is essential that you recognise the importance of the Green Belt in Halesowen (Illey, Lapal, Uffmoor, Hayley Green, Coombeswood), Lutley and Foxcote to its local community, and beyond, by ensuring it is protected for generations to come.
