I am writing to you regarding the Peak House Farm development in Great Barr

I am aware that Sandwell Council did not include HIMOR's proposal to build on the farm land, off Wilderness Lane in the draft Black Country Plan. However I understand that it is still expected that HIMOR will appeal against this decision and try to get the land included in the final version of the Black Country Plan.

As a local resident I am highly concerned regarding this.

Not only has the land already been designated as not being suitable for housing and the hedgerows being identified as being vital for biodiversity as well as aiding local climate change; it also raises many other concerns.

The local roads are busy enough as it is. More housing means more residents and more cars on the road. It will be horrific.

Local schools are already over subscribed with children having to travel out of the area to schools further afield. Where will the children of the new proposed housing expected to go? Will our current local children be up against even more competition to get into a local school that they can walk to and be part of their local Community?

The area is currently providing a beautiful green area of peace and a safe haven for nature including birds, insects, foxes and not to mention deer that have recently been seen. It provides local residents an area of tranquility and has been even more important in doing so the last 18 months.

Please don't take this away from our local community and children.
